About the Foundation

The Madison Public Library Foundation, Inc., is a tax-exempt, private, nonprofit corporation that provides supplementary financial support for the Library. Because the demands for library services and the needs and opportunities facing the library are growing much faster than the public funds available to support them, the goal of the Foundation is to enrich, not replace, traditional tax-based support through private fund-raising from individuals, businesses and foundations. Such supplemental funding will make a difference between an adequate municipal library system, and a great one!

Donate Now

Click here to donate now via the City of Madison's secure server (credit card or ETF).

Our goal is to make your on-line giving experience user friendly. You are now able to specify your contribution to the various Madison Public Library Foundation projects.

Opportunities for contributing include:

Annual Fund: Each year the Madison Public Library Foundation grants monies to enhance Library resources and programs. These gifts fuel our programs and offerings such as expanded collections, youth programs, electronic resources and more.

Capital Campaigns: The Madison Public Library system strives to meet the challenges of continual improvement through the generosity of our donors. As we set new goals, you have the opportunity to dramatically affect the quality of life in your city, your neighborhood, and in your neighborhood library.

Special Events: The Madison Public Library Foundation presents an annual event each Fall to highlight innovative talent in our community with proceeds benefiting Madison Public Library programs.

Endowments: Some gifts have the power to ensure the well being of the Library for generations to come. The Madison Public Library Foundation endowments are designed to sustain our institution as our city grows. Consider contributing to an existing fund, or ask us about establishing one of your own. Every gift makes a difference.

Thank you for your on-going support of the Madison Public Library Foundation.

Fondly,
Terrie Goren
